GIZ is implementing a 3-year project “Strengthening Water Security in Zanzibar” (ZanziWaS) in partnership with the Ministry of Water, Energy and Minerals (MoWEM). The project supports a sustainable management of water supply, wastewater and water resources on Zanzibar.
Duty station: Zanzibar
Fixed term contract
Job location: Band 4
Responsibilities
Improvement of the political administrative environment for water and wastewater management
capacity building measures for staff of MoWEM, utility and local authorities to improve the op-eration and maintenance of drinking water infrastructure and wastewater management,
Improved service delivery for utility
Improved climate resilience of the water sector Other/additional tasks
Spearhead communications and PR efforts to amplify the programme’s story and achieve-ments.
Take on additional responsibilities and activities as needed, showcasing your versatility and commitment to the programme’s success.
Qualifications and Professional Experience
Educational foundation: A higher-education degree in economics or related
Proven track record: At least 3 years of hands-on experience in project management, delivering re-sults and driving success.
Communications expertise: At least 3 years of experience in communications, including social media strategy and implementation.
Specialized Experience
Access to finance: Demonstrated experience in access to finance for small enterprises including private sector cooperations
Experience in designing business development services for small and medium enterprises
Innovation-driven mindset: Practical experience in managing and fostering innovation to drive impactful outcomes.
Complex stakeholder management: Skilled at navigating and managing relationships with diverse and complex stakeholders.
Experience in cooperation with the public sector is an added value
Team player with diverse awareness: Proven ability to work effectively in diverse teams, with mem-bers from different cultural and professional backgrounds.
Language proficiency: Fluent in Swahili and English, with excellent communication skills in both lan-guages.
Digital & Technical Expertise
Tech-savvy: Strong working knowledge of digital tools and applications to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
