KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

  • Bachelors Degree in any of the fields that advance Social and Economic Rights e.g. Sociology, Development Studies, EducationAt least 5 years of coordination of Policy and Advocacy programmes and projects
  • At least 4 years of coordination of Issue based campaigns in any of the Social and Economic Rights
  • At least 4 years of engagement with the Executive and Legislature on policy and legislative processes
  • At least 4 years of engagement in Government Budget Process and Public Expenditure Reviews and Tracking
  • At least 3 years of engagement with children and assisting children to engage with duty bearers in various public policy decision processes at various levels of Governance

Public Policy Reviews and Engagement

  • Conduct Annual Review of Public Policy initiatives by the National and County Governments, that promote efforts towards ending child hunger and malnutrition in Kenya
  • Conduct Annual Review of relevant National and County Governments Budget documents for Programmes and projects that that promote efforts towards ending child hunger and malnutrition in Kenya
  • Coordinate evidence-based engagement with the Executive at the National and County levels (Relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies); and the Legislature at the National and County levels (The National Assembly, the Senate and County Assemblies) on public policy and public finance actions towards ending child hunger and malnutrition
  • Coordinate relevant engagement and networking actions with religious organizations, civil society organizations and the private sector in championing public policy actions towards ending child hunger and malnutrition

Engagement of children in ENOUGH Campaign –

  • Develop, and regularly review and update, child friendly materials on the right to food and the right to be free from hunger, and disseminate such materials to children for their reference and use in child led advocacy actions
  • Regularly assist various diverse groups of children to document the status on the right to food and the right to be free from hunger in their various contexts in their various perspectives for reference and use in child led advocacy
  • Coordinate child led engagement and reflection forums on the right to food and the right to be free from hunger, at various levels of governance in Kenya
  • Coordinate consultations and engagement of children with the Executive at the National and County levels (Relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies); and the Legislature at the National and County levels (The National Assembly, the Senate and County Assemblies) on public policy and public finance actions towards ending child hunger and malnutrition

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Monitor the progress being made in integration and implementation of initiatives that contribute to ending child hunger and malnutrition across all World Vision’s programme areas and relevant grant projects in Kenya
  • Review relevant data across various relevant child hunger and malnutrition indicator from World Vision’s programme areas and grant projects and generate quarterly campaigns impact briefs
  • Develop monthly and quarterly campaigns reports, inclusive of all campaign result areas, and demonstrate campaigns progress against targets
  • Convene monthly ENOUGH campaigns working group review meetings

  • Based on emerging ENOUGH campaign needs and as assigned by the Supervisor from time to time
