Description

Action Against Hunger is recruiting enumerators to support MEAL and/or Programs teams in qualitative and quantitative data collection across humanitarian and development interventions in Northeast and Northwest Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct accurate quantitative and qualitative data collection
  • Support routine monitoring of project activities across supported sites as assigned by ACF
  • Carry out routine supervision and spot checks on enumerators’ daily activities
  • Ensure quality of data being collected by enumerators
  • Locate and validate each respondent before questionnaire administration
  • Provide technical support with data collection tools to enumerators in the field if required
  • Coordinate movements of the enumerators team in the field to reach determined respondent thresholds according to schedule
  • Ensure proper methodology is implemented for data collection, as per validated ToR
  • Ensure proper handling of devices by enumerators
  • Report any cases or complaints formulated by beneficiaries to the accountability unit
  • Provide feedback and complaint forms for stakeholders if required
  • Give feedback to field supervisors after each day of data collection
  • Perform other related tasks as required and report progress and achievement of assigned tasks
  • Conduct all duties professionally following ACF Nigeria mission staff regulations, Charter of Principles and Core Values

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of SSCE and Diploma in any science or social sciences or any other relevant field
  • At least one year experience in field data collection and related activities
  • Fluency in English and at least two local languages especially Hausa, Kanuri, Fulani, Shuwa (both written and spoken skills)
  • Previous working experience in multiple languages: interpretation and translation skills
  • Previous experience in the use of smartphone data collection
  • Good interpersonal skills – able to work with diverse stakeholders and partners effectively
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of survey procedures and data quality techniques
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good understanding and knowledge of local situation and community dynamics including cultural, gender and protection issues
  • Previous experience of working with NGOs
  • Proven interest & commitment to humanitarian and development principles and demonstrable understanding of conflict/post-conflict development contexts
  • Female indigenes of the state where the activity will be implemented preferred
