Description
Optica is looking for a detail-oriented E-commerce Operations Specialist to maintain our online
storefront and ensure a seamless shopping and browsing experience. You will be
the "bridge" between our inventory, our customers, and our web developers. The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable with data but also has a basic technical understanding of how websites are built.
The role will be based in Nairobi.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
· Experience: 1–3 years in e-commerce, web administration, or a similar digital role.
· Technical: Proficiency with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify,WooCommerce, or Magento) and a foundational understanding of HTML/CSS. Ideally some Liquid knowledge too.
· Analytical: Ability to pull data and turn it into a simple, readable report.
· Communication: Strong ability to translate "website problems" into clear instructions for technical teams
. Attention to Detail:A "perfectionist" mindset when it comes to site layouts and data
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
1.Catalogue Management: Manage product photography lifecycle, upload new products, manage inventory levels, and ensure all product descriptions and prices are 100% accurate.
2.Site Merchandising: Update homepage banners, createnew collection layouts, and ensure the website looks fresh and aligned with current promotions.
3.Technical Liaison & QA: Regularly test the site for bugs (links, checkout flow, mobile responsiveness). You will document issues and oversee external developers to ensure fixes are implemented correctly.
4. Basic Front-end Updates: Use basic HTML/CSS to make minor adjustments to page layouts or format blog posts/product descriptions.
5. Performance Reporting: Generate reports on website traffic, conversion rates, and sales performance using tools like Google Analytics.
6. Digital Marketing Efforts: Work together with the digital marketing team to ensure all efforts are consistent and working towards same goals and outcomes.
