Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4–6 years’ relevant HSE experience, preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Professional HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor) is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian HSE regulations and international standards.
  • Proven experience in implementing HSE management systems.
Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE policies, procedures, and management systems in line with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, inspections, and environmental impact assessments across operational sites.
  • Monitor workplace activities to ensure compliance with safety rules and use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Drive incident prevention initiatives and ensure proper investigation, reporting, and closure of all incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts.
  • Monitor workplace conditions and ensure prompt corrective actions are taken to mitigate identified hazards.
  • Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees and contractors to enhance safety awareness and compliance
  • Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation, including regulatory submissions where required.
  • Support environmental management activities, including waste disposal, emissions monitoring, and pollution control measures.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response plans, including drills and simulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed a strong safety culture within the organization.
