Description
RKJMS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to
join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in
diagnosing and managing a broad range of gastrointestinal disorders, performing
diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, and collaborating within a
multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care. In addition to clinical
responsibilities, this role involves mentoring junior staff, engaging in clinical research,
and contributing to ongoing professional development initiatives.

Education & Professional Qualifications
• Medical degree (MBChB or equivalent) from a recognized institution.

• Master’s degree in Internal Medicine

• Fellowship in Gastroenterology from a recognized Centre or institution.

• Valid medical license and registration with the Kenya Medical and Dental

Council.

• Specialist Recognition by KMPDC as a gastroenterolgist

Work Experience

• A minimum of 2 years post-fellowship experience in a high-volume

gastroenterology/endoscopy unit.

• Demonstrated expertise in performing both diagnostic and therapeutic

endoscopic procedures.

• Experience in training and mentoring medical personnel is highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent Endoscopic Skills including in ERCP

• Excellent diagnostic and analytical skills specific to gastroenterology.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patientcentered care.

• Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.

• Proficiency in medical record-keeping and IT systems.
