Our client in the food manufacturing space is currently looking to hire a Warehouse Supervisor.

The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for managing and overseeing inventory control and stock management within the organization. Your responsibilities are to ensure the efficient tracking, maintenance, and organization of inventory, as well as leading a team to achieve nil stock variances.


Responsibilities

Our client in the food manufacturing space is currently looking to hire a Warehouse Supervisor.

The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for managing and overseeing inventory control and stock management within the organization. Your responsibilities are to ensure the efficient tracking, maintenance, and organization of inventory, as well as leading a team to achieve nil stock variances.



Key Job Functions

Inventory Tracking and Record Keeping

  • Ensure accurate tracking of inventory levels, both incoming and outgoing. This involves monitoring stock levels and making sure that the data on systems and trackers is up to date.
  • Conduct cycle counts, including researching and documenting inventory discrepancies, to identify root causes and propose solutions.
  • Coordinate the fulfillment of daily orders by ensuring proper stock supply planning.
  • Leveraging inventory management systems in place to streamline processes and maintain accurate stock records at all times.
  • Own the creation of part numbers and descriptions on the inventory management systems.

Optimize Warehouse and Storage

  • Optimize inventory systems as well as warehouse layout to determine how quickly and easily accessible stock is for efficient picking methods.
  • Determine aged stock seating in the warehouse.
  • Implementing inventory control processes to minimize losses due to theft, damage, or obsolescence.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance inventory management efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards related to inventory management.
  • Implement and maintain a first-in, first-out (FIFO) inventory rotation system.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Manage the inventory tracking system to record deliveries, shipments, and stock levels.
  • Generate reports on inventory performance, such as transactions, stock levels, and other relevant metrics, to inform decision-making.
  • Perform daily audits and publish daily reports to ensure the accuracy of system quantities in all warehouse locations.
  • Conducting weekly audits to verify the accuracy of inventory records and identify discrepancies.

Experience / Skills & Competencies / Education Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in inventory management, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
  • Prior experience in a startup environment is highly desirable, demonstrating adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic setting.
  • Proven ability to oversee and maintain accurate inventory levels, effectively minimizing stock discrepancies and promptly identifying potential inventory issues.
  • Strict adherence to inventory control procedures, demonstrating a strong commitment to compliance and the confidence to enforce regulations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the capacity to efficiently manage a wide variety of stock items and maintain precise records.
  • Demonstrates integrity and transparency in work practices, and readily acknowledges and addresses issues promptly.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information and instructions to production team and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and other relevant computer applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve operational and inventory issues.
