About the role:
We are looking for an experienced and analytical digital marketing professional ready to take the next step up the career ladder and manage end to end digital marketing and growth for one of Africa’s fastest-growing online businesses. You will be part of the leadership team reporting to the CEO. Mdundo is a publicly listed company at the stock exchange Nasdaq First North in Copenhagen and as a part of the leadership team, you will be directly responsible for the results of the company.
Mdundo has grown to 5,000,000 monthly active users primarily through the execution of a data-driven content marketing strategy. We are looking for someone to continuously improve the Mdundo model and drive us from 5,000,000 to 18,000,000 over the next 24 months – we estimate a minimum of 150,000,000 people are searching for music in Africa every month. Mdundo has a strong focus on a low user acquisition cost and we expect to drive most of our future growth through content marketing, SEO and social media marketing. You will be overseeing the Mdundo marketing team that currently consists of four great team leaders (1) Social Media (2) Music News (3) Music Curation (4) SEO. You will be tasked with overseeing the performance of our marketing activities, creating strategies and tactics based on the data and executing on them with the marketing team.
Responsible for the two key components of growth (1) attracting new users (2) increasing the engagement and satisfaction of current users.
Managing the existing team of 4 marketing managers and a total department that expects to grow to +15 people over the next 2 years.
Contentiously analyze, develop, execute and evaluate Mdundo’s marketing activities together with our marketing managers.
Manage the leadership functions; Planning, Leading, Organising and Controlling.
Drive traffic to Mdundo through content marketing, social media and SEO activities.
Traditional marketing functions; Branding, PR, Communication, Customer Satisfaction is not a key focus for the role however these functions might be involved in the role.
