The role holder will be responsible for acquisition of new Members, aggressively approaching potential customers with the aim of winning new business and cross selling to existing customers.

He / She shall be responsible for planning and implementing sales and marketing initiatives in order to realize set targets in terms of membership growth, maximizing sales profitability, selling of the Sacco’s products and/or related services and activating dormant accounts.



Responsibilities

The role holder will be responsible for acquisition of new Members, aggressively approaching potential customers with the aim of winning new business and cross selling to existing customers.

He / She shall be responsible for planning and implementing sales and marketing initiatives in order to realize set targets in terms of membership growth, maximizing sales profitability, selling of the Sacco’s products and/or related services and activating dormant accounts.



Member Services Management:

  • Recruiting new members and following up with the members to ensure they don’t fall in dormancy

  • Reporting on number of members recruited, dormant accounts activated every day and the contributions pledged.

  • Reporting on loans sold as per set targets.

  • Ensure Sacco’s new membership documentation is 100% compliant

  • Explain to new and existing members the different types of loans and savings available and their respective terms and conditions.

  • Advice corporates on eligibility for joining the Sacco.

  • Follow up on member’s communications in a timely and professional manner.

  • Support customer service and work closely with other departments on the execution of service delivery

Prospecting/Lead Generation:

  • Responsible for finding new leads, setting meetings, introducing the Sacco, following up on presentations made and closing sales deals.

Sales & Marketing:

  • Market the company’s products and services on a daily basis to prospective customers.

  • Generate business through local sales promotion: i.e. marketing calls on potential customers, organizing sales visits, giving sales presentations and implementing sales plans.

  • Pitch, negotiate, and close outside sales deals i.e. achieve or exceed the sales targets set.

  • Build relationships with existing referral sources and cultivate new referral sources both internally and externally.

  • Identify market and develop ways of entry into the market

  • Take responsibility for specific marketing campaigns within the regions.

  • Work closely with the marketing team in arranging for events/promotions for new acquisition of customers.

  • Attend relevant Sacco exhibitions and meetings to recruit members.

  • Derive insights to competitor sales activities and effectively counter the efforts.

  • Regularly provide feedback to the BDC manager on the acceptance of the products in the market and suggest changes that could provide energy to the sales efforts.

  • Assist in improving the visibility and brand image of the company.

  • Participate in member education forums to create awareness about Sacco products and services and increase membership, income and grow the loan book.

Account Management:

  • Service existing accounts and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.

  • Be the primary contact person for new accounts introduced, regularly meet with clients to strengthen relationships, introduce new products and grow clients’ monthly sales.

Sales Analysis & Reporting:

  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.

  • Consistently track sales performance, measure and analyse monthly sales projections versus actuals sales, perform ROI analysis and use data to determine sales strategy.

  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Sales & Marketing, Co-operative Management or a Business related course from a recognized institution.

  • A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a busy customer service environment

  • Preferably candidates with CIM qualifications and active members of MSK.

  • Prior experience working in the financial sector is a must.

  • Thorough knowledge of sales & marketing principles, brand, product and service management.

  • Microsoft Office proficiency and superb analytical skills.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Research, writing and negotiation skills.

  • Passionate customer advocacy with a deep understanding of changing market dynamics.

  • Motivation for sales and ability to uphold professionalism.
