Qualifications/special skills
- Applicants must, at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent); or Have graduated with a university degree.
- Applicants must be pursuing qualifications in an area of study that can significantly contribute to the responsibilities outlined and overall work of the Ecosystems Division Directors Office, including: Applicants must, at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements:
- Background in programme management, business administration, development studies, or other related field;
- Demonstrated interest and experience in issues related to in programme coordination, project management, or support to environmental and conservation initiative;
- Experience in organizing meetings, or conferences, including managing stakeholder coordination is highly desirable; Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the Deputy Director, including meeting preparation, and documentation.
- Assist in organizing internal meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and tracking follow-up actions.
- Support special projects and priority initiatives led by the Deputy Director through coordination, research, and follow-up.
- Undertake targeted research and analysis, including internal reports and data, to inform knowledge management and process improvements.
- Assist in preparing internal communications, briefing notes, and presentation materials, as needed.
- Liaise with division teams to gather inputs and support coordination on key activities.
- Undertake other tasks as required, in line with the intern’s interests and experience.
