About Fuzu

Fuzu is the leading African career development and talent-matching platform dedicated to connecting talent to opportunity. With over 2.5 million registered users and 2,000+ employers, Fuzu leverages AI-driven technology to help young people build skills, access meaningful employment, and grow their careers both locally and globally.

Through our AI Powered Job Connections Program, Fuzu is implementing a two-year initiative designed to connect financially disadvantaged youth in Kenya—particularly young women, persons with disabilities, and refugees—to dignified and fulfilling work opportunities. By combining AI-powered job matching, personalized career coaching, targeted skilling, and light-touch employer engagement, the program removes systemic barriers to employment and supports thousands of young people in accessing sustainable income and long-term career pathways.

About the role

We are looking for a three (3) Employer Outreach & Inclusion Associates to expand and strengthen a pipeline of employer partners who are willing and prepared to offer opportunities to disadvantaged youth. The role focuses on awareness-building and mindset shift, helping employers understand the value of inclusive hiring, and guiding them to practical learning resources and tools so they can adopt youth-friendly and inclusive recruitment practices.

Responsibilities
1) Employer outreach and relationship building
  • Identify and map potential employer partners (SMEs, corporates, staffing firms, sector associations) aligned to program job pathways.

  • Conduct structured outreach (calls, emails, visits, webinars) to introduce the Program and invite participation.

  • Maintain a pipeline tracker (contacts, stage, next steps, commitments) and follow up consistently to move employers forward.

2) Awareness-building and inclusive hiring adoption
  • Facilitate short employer engagements to address misconceptions about disadvantaged youth and demonstrate workforce potential (evidence, examples, success stories).

  • Promote practical inclusive hiring approaches (fair screening, skills-based selection, supportive onboarding, reasonable accommodations).

  • Help employers reflect on and reduce bias in recruitment practices (e.g., removing unnecessary barriers, reviewing job descriptions).

3) Guidance to educational resources and tools
  • Guide employers to curated awareness/education materials (information-only toolkits, briefs, micro-learnings) created by the Program team.

  • Encourage participation in employer learning modules and community sessions (virtual or in-person).

  • Collect employer questions and pain points and feed them back to the content/learning teams to improve resources.

4) Opportunity enablement and coordination
  • Support employers to define suitable roles for youth (internships, entry-level, apprenticeships, returnships) and clarify requirements.

  • Coordinate with internal teams to support employer onboarding steps and ensure opportunities are captured accurately for publishing/verification.

  • Encourage employers to consider non-job support, where feasible (mentorship, workplace visits, short talks, mock interviews, skills challenges).

5) Data capture, feedback, and continuous improvement
  • Log employer interactions and outcomes accurately in the CRM/tracker.

  • Contribute to simple pulse checks (what changed, what barriers remain, what support is needed).

  • Escalate any risks or concerns (e.g., questionable recruitment practices) to the appropriate QA/safeguarding processes.

Key deliverables
  • Active employer outreach pipeline with clearly documented stages and follow-ups.

  • Employer awareness sessions (1:1 or group) delivered and documented.

  • Increased number of employers who:

    • agree to participate,

    • complete readiness steps,

    • and make opportunities available to youth.

  • Employer insights shared monthly with the program team (barriers, misconceptions, content needs).

Qualifications & experience
  • Diploma/degree in Communications, Business, HR, Social Sciences, Community Development, or related field.

  • 1–3 years of experience in outreach, customer success, partnerships support, community engagement, or programs.

  • Comfort engaging employers professionally (phone, email, meetings); confidence presenting is a plus.

Skills & competencies
  • Strong interpersonal skills: listening, empathy, persuasion without “selling.”

  • Clear communication and facilitation; ability to explain inclusive hiring simply.

  • Organized and disciplined follow-up; good documentation habits.

  • Basic data literacy (trackers, CRM tools, forms).

  • High integrity and sensitivity to youth protection and ethical engagement.
