Hi, we are Enviu, a venture studio that ideates and builds social start-ups that serve people and planet. We have built 24 impact ventures since 2010: currently working actively on 14 ventures in different stages in Nairobi, Jakarta, Bangalore, and Rotterdam.

We are looking for a COO for one of our ventures, to drive its growth & scale up with:

  • 5+ years to experience in business/ social enterprise

  • Bachelor/Master's degree in business, management, economics or similar

  • 2+ years' experience in a leadership/ senior management role (e.g., CXO, Head of dept roles)

  • Experience in managing multiple teams

  • Experience in overseeing budgets, and projects

  • Experience working with farmers or in agri-tech companies

The job will be performed in Nairobi, Kenya and we are specifically looking for a local female candidate.

  1. Lead growth of existing operations in new locations

    • Develop and implement the company's growth plan, considering the unique challenges and opportunities in the sector.

    • Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to formulate effective business strategies.

    • Build strong operational foundations to speeden scale up

  2. Lead operational strategy development & implementation

    • Oversee all aspects of the agro-processing operations, including procurement, production, quality control, and logistics.

    • Develop and implement efficient and sustainable processes to optimize productivity, reduce costs, and ensure consistent product quality.

    • Monitor production performance, supply chain efficiency, and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.

    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, certifications, and quality standards.

  3. Lead production, engineering and operational teams to meet company KPIs and goals

    • Provide strong leadership, guidance, and mentorship to your team employees.

    • Build and motivate a high-performing team by promoting a positive work culture, promoting teamwork, and recognizing achievements.

    • Attract and retain top talent through effective recruitment, training, and professional development initiatives.
