Job Brief
We are looking for a qualified Assistant Security Manager to join our team. He/she will be responsible for assisting the Security Manager in coordination of security operations, as well as managing, training, and assessing performance of the entire security personnel.
Perform checks on operational needs and administer new procedures for strict compliance in the hotel
Collate Hotel Incident reports, record statements, and interview eyewitnesses performing
onsite investigation and involve the authorities, where necessary.
Oversee critical and sensitive functions in the hotel giving command & control the operations during an emergency
Ensure all security personnel are fully briefed on major events of the hotel and formulate the respective SOPs
Assist the Security & Safety Manager to monitor Department’s budget and ensure
expenditures are within the budget
Implement strict discipline on non-performers and liaise directly with HR Department for appropriate actions
Prevent situations that could jeopardize the reputation of the hotel
Document all incidents occurring in the hotel in connection with crime, subversions, potential liabilities and insurance requirements
Assist staff in handling of unusual guests or employees’ problems, such as, but not limited to, disorderly conduct, thefts, suicides, bomb threats, employee or guest accidents, fire or safety hazards, robberies, terrorist activities, civil disturbances, power or elevator failures, medical assistance and natural disasters
Select, train, schedule, discipline and direct security colleagues in all aspects of security policies and procedures
Keep abreast of developments within the hotel and community as they relate to security as well as act as a liaison with local law-enforcement agencies
Remain informed of current local laws and regulations as they relate to the hotel, particularly in the area of guests, patrons and employees’ rights
Responsible for all training related to the hotel’s emergency procedures
Conduct orientation to new colleagues on Security & Safety
Organize departmental functions/retreat to foster better relationships within the department.
Participate in Workplace Safety Committee (OSH) activities of Hotel
Carry out any other duties as and when assigned by the Security Manager and the Management at large
Oversee daily handing and taking over of teams and to check the documents handed over by the Supervisors
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Crime/Security Management or its equivalent
5+ years of experience with the last 2 in a similar role with proven track record
Conversant with the various systems in Hotel Security Management
Experienced in first aid, firefighting and crowd control
Possess occupational CPR and AED operation skills
Basic Fire Fighting skills
First Aid Management
Knowledge in Fire Prevention & Protection of Building
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of governing local laws pertaining security
Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
