Job Brief
The F&B/Outlet Cashier is responsible for maintaining highly efficient and courteous food and beverage operations in a fast-paced setting by greeting guests, anticipating guests needs, providing knowledgeable Food & Beverage service, and providing consistent professional guest relations with a positive upbeat personality. Works efficiently in a team based environment and must follow all cash handling policies and procedures as well as all internal controls, consistently. All duties as assigned by the Financial Controller/F&B Manager or their designate and in line with the hotel’s business plan.
The function should be supportive, proactive, analytical and entrepreneurial; creating memorable experiences for our guests and fostering an empowered environment for the team. They should be able to work closely with all key business partners in order to achieve quality results. The job incumbent acts as a brand ambassador for the hotel, reflecting the company culture and values. All work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures and service concepts according to local requirements and regulations.

To be responsible for cashier’s house fund, and its safekeeping
To ensure that a check is made and recorded in the POS system for every food & beverage sale in the outlet
To ensure that a check is made and recorded in the POS system for any meals consumed by employees, or any service offered to guests as complimentary or entertainment
To prepare cashier’s summary and tally it with Micros (POS) reading at the close of his shift
To printing and tally transaction list from credit card machines with physical check, and
POS reading.
To prepare deposit envelope, write the deposit amount in cashier’s deposit sheet and drop the envelope in the Front Office safe depository, in the presence of a witness, who has also signed the witness column of the cashier’s deposit sheet
Responsible for checking the system daily and completing all administrative procedures
concerning allocated tasks
Performs duties common to all and any project assignments as and when requested
Supports a safe hotel by applying hotel regulations, and adhering to existing laws and
regulations
Anticipates possible and probable hazards and conditions and takes action to prevent them from happening
Maintains the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body
language and conduct
Prepares all appropriate period closing reports and entries
Follows all applicable laws relating to general accounting practices and tax regulations
Complies fully with the set financial reporting deadlines and guidelines, as outlined by
the Financial Controller
Ensure that office equipment is kept clean and well maintained, take corrective action as
required
Assist in developing the departmental business plan and budget and analyzing deviation to budget, and takes action as required
Implements strategies where key financial metrics are identified, communicated and delivered where reports and tracking tools are effectively maintained in line with defined initiatives & targets
Supports the Financial Controller in working on the departmental budget, ensuring that costs and departmental inventory is controlled such that target productivity and performance levels are attained
Requirements
3+ years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in a luxury hotel
Professional certification/development in relevant discipline e.g. CPAs, ACCA, KATC
Must demonstrate the ability to handle multiple and conflicting priorities, and work under strict deadlines
Should have strong analytical and be result-oriented
Must have high standards of integrity and ethical practice
High levels of keen eye for detail
Proficiency in Ms Office, especially Advanced Excel
Outstanding ability to interact and communicate with all stakeholders
Outstanding ability to diagnose and resolve problems swiftly
