Assistant Director, Supply Chain Management-AD(SCM)/02/03/2026
Description
The Assistant Director, Supply Chain Management is responsible for coordinating the effective and efficient procurement of goods, works, services and disposal of assets while ensuring compliance with the relevant laws and regulations.
- Cumulative period of twelve (12 years relevant work experience, three (3) of which must have been in the grade of Principal Supply Chain Management Officer or in an equivalent or comparable position;
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Supply Chain Management and Logistics, Purchasing and Supplies Management, Procurement and Supplies Management, Procurement, Commerce (Supplies Management Option) Business Administration (Supplies Management option) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution;
- Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration (Supplies Management Option) or equivalent qualification from a recognized and accredited institution;
- Certified Procurement and Supply Professional of Kenya (CPSP-K) Course or equivalent qualifications from a recognized and accredited institution;
- Certificate in Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized and accredited institution;
- Membership to Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or relevant professional body;
- Valid practicing certificate from a relevant professional body where applicable;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Demonstrated managerial, administrative, and professional competence as reflected in work performance and results.
Responsibilities
- Review and development of Policies and procedures for supply chain processes;
- Coordination of the management of all procurement processing committees;
- Coordinating the procurement secretariat in accordance with the procurement regulatory framework;
- Monitoring the annual corporate procurement and disposal plans and making recommendations to enhance plan execution;
- Coordinating disposal of assets activities;
- Monitoring and reporting on performance progress and risk mitigation activities in the department;
- Coordinating inventory optimization practices, replenishment, stock taking and cycle counts and provision of reconciliation information;
- Monitoring the preparation of service level agreements, Contracts and reporting in consultation with the users;
- Reviewing the tender documents in accordance with the Act before publication; and
- Procurement and contract file documents management.
