Is responsible for developing and implementing annual procurement plans to ensure timely availability of materials and services needed to implement UIA’s approved work plans. To assist the Head of PDU in overseeing purchasing of activities and evaluating suppliers, products and services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high quality of activities. He/she is also responsible for supervising other staff under him/her, maintaining positive supplier relations, evaluating supply options, approving purchases, and maintaining accurate records.


Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Masters in Procurement and Supplies Management, Business Administration, Business management
  • Degree in Procurement and Supplies Management, Business Administration, Business management, Commerce is preferred.
  • Knowledge in relevant Government computerized procurement systems will be an added advantage Should possess CIPS
  • Full membership MCIPS with the relevant professional body is preferred
  • A post graduate diploma in Procurement and supply chain management, Project Planning and Management, Business Administration is must.
  • 4+ years hands on experience in a busy organization preferably a government entity in the field of procurement and supply chain management.

Key Competences

  • Should have an analytical mind and keep up with product and service trends.
  • Should be able to negotiate well and ensure that all purchases comply with company standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
  • Contracting and contract Management

  • Good analytical and strategic thinking skills.
