Description
The intern will assist with conducting Research on emerging issues in Governance, including Anti-Corruption, Public Financial Management, Transparency & Accountability and Illicit Financial Flows (IFF). S/He will also provide administrative and logistical support to the project team and internal reporting on output activities.
Responsibilities
Activities
1. Research and Analysis
Conduct desk research on emerging issues in governance, particularly in:
Anti-corruption strategies and frameworks
Public Financial Management (PFM) systems and reforms
Transparency and accountability mechanisms
Illicit Financial Flows (IFFs) and asset recovery
Analyze national, regional, and global governance trends and policies
Support the preparation of research briefs, concept notes, and policy summaries
Contribute to knowledge products, reports, and learning materials
2. Programme Support and Coordination
Assist in implementation of programme activities and events (workshops, trainings, stakeholder meetings)
Provide logistical and administrative support, including scheduling, documentation, and coordination with partners
Assist in maintaining programme documentation and filing systems
3. Monitoring, Reporting, and Knowledge Management
Support internal reporting processes, including compiling inputs for progress reports and output tracking
Assist in documenting programme results, lessons learned, and best practices
Contribute to communication materials such as briefs, newsletters, and presentations
4. Cross-Cutting Support
Provide general support to the programme team as required
Qualifications and specialist knowledge
Bachelor’s degree in: PoliticalScience, Public Administration, Law or related field, Economics or Any relevant Social Science discipline
Must have completed their course/graduated within the last 12 months at the
time of your applicationDemonstrated experience or passion in governance and policy environment, including through voluntary initiatives in or outside the University
Experience in conducting research around Anti-corruption and Public Finance Management, transparency and accountability and Illicit Financial Flows.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
