About the job:
Job Summary:
The Pharmaceutical Technologist will be responsible for providing high-quality pharmaceutical services at our medical centre. This includes accurately dispensing medications, managing inventory, and offering professional counseling to patients and staff. A background in marketing and information technology will be an added advantage in supporting the promotion of the center's services and streamlining operations.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
1. Dispensing and Compounding
Accurately dispense and compound medicines in compliance with regulatory and clinical guidelines.
Ensure prescriptions are processed and dispensed correctly to avoid errors.
2. Patient Counseling and Drug Information
Provide clear and accurate drug information and counseling to patients, ensuring they understand the proper usage, potential side effects, and interactions of their medications.
Offer professional advice to clinical staff on drug therapies and best practices.
3. Procurement and Inventory Management
Collaborate with relevant departments to order and procure necessary drugs and supplies.
Manage pharmacy inventory, including stock-taking, receiving and storing goods, and overseeing the distribution of pharmaceutical items.
4. Record Keeping
Maintain accurate records of local purchases, delivery notes, invoices, and internal requisition orders to ensure accountability and compliance.
5. Quality Management
Participate in the analysis and enhancement of the quality management system to maintain high standards in pharmacy operations.
6. Patient Education
Advise patients on adverse side effects, potential drug interactions, and best practices for medication adherence.
7. Prescription Processing
Process prescriptions and orders promptly, and follow up on stock issues to ensure seamless service delivery.
8. Marketing and Promotion
Actively participate in promoting and marketing the services offered by the center to increase patient awareness and engagement
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Qualifications:
Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
Valid registration with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).
Experience and Skills
2- 3 years of experience in dispensing and pharmaceutical operations.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Competence in IT tools and systems relevant to pharmacy management.
Marketing experience will be an added advantage.

High level of integrity and professionalism.
Proactive, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
