Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in English / Drama, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGDE, PGCE, or equivalent) is a strong advantage
  • Registered with TSC
  • Experience teaching Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE / GCSE Drama is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge and expertise with international teaching pedagogy and assessment methods
  • Significant experience directing dynamic and creative student productions


Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality English and Drama lessons at GCSE and A Level, aligned with
  • Edexcel or Cambridge International curriculum requirements and school values. Support for Primary School Productions.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture that supports curiosity, creativity, and student voice.
  • Prepare students effectively for external examinations through clear instruction, structured practice, and timely feedback.
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress accurately, using assessment to inform teaching and support individual learning needs.
  • Encourage confident communication, critical thinking, and thoughtful performance, both written and practical.
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school, including productions, enrichment activities, and collaborative planning.
  • Integrate local culture and context where appropriate to enrich drama learning
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively and maintain high expectations
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour for learning, professionalism, and safeguarding at all times.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice to continuously improve teaching and learning.
